CAP Programs

Current Programs:

Bridging the Gaps of Adult Digital Literacy: Older Adults can now easily discover and make use of online information and communicate using mobile devices at one of the many CAP Sites in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) thanks to funding from the .CA Community Investment Program. Bridging the Gaps of Adult Digital Literacy provides orientation, training, and support in the use mobile technologies. The program offers one-on-one and small group training sessions, facilitated by CAP Youth Interns and volunteers at CAP sites throughout HRM. These informal training sessions, catered to the needs and skill level of individual participants, will help participants learn how to use tablets, navigate the Internet, find useful applications, and access ongoing support. Participants are encouraged to bring in their own tablet if they have one, or they may learn on one of our iPads or Android-based tablets.

If you’re interested in arranging a training session, please contact us at 902-403-6339 or by email at traininghrm@nscap.ca. When calling or emailing to arrange a training session, please include your name, phone number, and the community in which you would like to receive training.

General Computer Training: FREE training is available for Microsoft Office, customer service and a variety of other topics. Please see your local C@P site for details.
