Mobile Tech 4 Social Change
Mobile Tech 4 Social Change is an open dialog barcamp exploring innovative uses of mobile technologies and social media to help improve the lives of people in Halifax.
Our goal is to draw together the nonprofit and tech communities to share knowledge, ask interesting questions and spark ideas. Proceeds from tickets will be donated to a local charity, decided by the event attendees. So at the end of the day, great opportunity to discuss ways to improve our city and help a local charity in the process, it's a win-win!
This
active conversation of turning ideas into action welcomes nonprofits,
software developers or anyone interested in how new technologies can be
used to organize, advocate and provide better health, environment,
human rights, citizen journalism and other social services. We currently have seven great sessions planned (with ad-hoc sessions forming that day):

- Giles Crouch of Norex - How Twitter Can Be Used To Mobilize A Group Of Supporters
- Jeff White of BrightWhite - Mobile Design, Less Means More
