IMG00495.jpgThe Halifax Regional CAP Association held it's 2009-2010 AGM (Annual General Meeting), on Monday June 28th 2010 in the Evolutions Room of the Dartmouth North Community Center.

Over 25 people attended, and over 60% of sites were represented. There's been a concerted effort to renew interest in the Board and I think that this year's AGM was proof bonafide that CAP networks are still alive and strong, with many new faces stepping forward to become Board Members.

Our AGM also included a change in By-laws which was
IMG00497.jpg carried unanimously: This change will allow the Board to appoint up to three stakeholders unrelated to CAP, which will allow us to recruit Board Members outside of those listed as site contacts.  The Board will now elaborate a Policy determining the process on how to appoint philantropic Board members.

We also had a presentation from Barb Allen to bring everyone up to date on the documentary film project with local film maker Ariella Phalke.

IMG00500.jpgThe transcripts of the video were turned into an introspective document examining case by case success stories and challenges from throughout our network.

Our final presentation was an introduction to the Metroworks Group with Dave Rideout, which made the initial presentation of a plan to work collaboratively.

All in all it was a great Annual General Meeting.

Thanks to everyone who attended and every who worked so hard to make it happen!
