The Halifax Regional C@P Association business plan entitled “Building Beyond Access – A Three Year Business Plan to March 31, 2005” noted that one of the major issues facing many of our member sites is “sustainability in terms of dollars and people”. This Volunteer Manual focuses on maximization of volunteer contribution from a management perspective.
This online manual contains tools and links to relevant articles and resources. It is intended for use as a volunteer management resource. This manual addresses a wide variety of issues around the management of Volunteers. It is structured in such a way as to be adaptable to the specific uses of the member CAP Sites of the Halifax Regional CAP Association. Each topic is presented on an individual page. If a section of the manual is not applicable to your organization at this time it can be removed, or replaced with policies specific to your organization.
Please note that this manual is intended not as a finished product but as a tool for assisting your CAP Site in the process of defining policies, procedures, and issues. This document may not give you all the answers specific to your situation. Hopefully it will help you to identify areas you wish to address. It is our hope that through networking with the other sites you will find the right mix of volunteer management principles for your organization.
